Directions to Hohenheim

The University of Hohenheim can be reached using public transportation via light rail (U), suburban railway (S), and bus. A complete map of Stuttgart's public transportation can be found here.  You can find recommendations how to get to Hohenheim in the following:

Stuttgart Airport - University of Hohenheim

Board suburban railway S2 at Flughafen/Messe towards Filderstadt. Get off at Filderstadt and board Bus 76 to Degerloch ZOB. Get off at Universität Hohenheim.

Every 26 minutes, costs approximately 2,90€.

Stuttgart Main Station - University of Hohenheim

Board light rail U7 towards Ostfildern. Get off at Ruhbank (Fernsehturm). Change to bus 70 towards Plieningen Garbe and get off at Universität Hohenheim. If you have some spare time and only light luggage you can go for a short walk ataround the TV-Tower, which is one of Stuttgarts major sights.

Every 10 minutes, costs approximately 2,90€.

SI-Centre - University of Hohenheim

Board light rail U3 at Salzäcker (SI-Erlebnis-Centrum) towards Plieningen Garbe. Get off at Plieningen Garbe and change to Bus 65 to Obertürkheim. Get off at University of Hohenheim. Alternatively you can walk from Plieningen Garbe to the University through its botanic gardens right to Garbenstraße. The walk will be approximately 10 minutes.

Every 20 minutes, costs approximately 2,40€.

Untertürkheim - Stuttgart Main Station (after Social Event at Museum of Viniculture)

The GDN bus is going to stop two times on its way back to the University of Hohenheim after Tuesday's Social Event at the Museum of Viniculture. First stop will be Untertürkheim station: from there you can easily get to Stuttgart main station and the city centre if your hotel is located there. Second stop will be the University of Hohenheim.

To get from Untertürkheim station to Stuttgart main station board light railway U4 towards Neckartor and change to U1 heading to Vaihingen. Get off at Stuttgart main station.

Every 15 minutes, costs approximately 2,90€.

Stuttgart Airport - Stuttgart Main Station (after Conference Dinner)

The GDN 2017 conference dinner will be located at the Mövenpick Hotel Stuttgart Airport. In order to get back to the city centre after the dinner the best way would be to use suburban railway S2 to Schorndorf or S3 to Backnang. Both lines will go through Stuttgart main station where you can get off.

Every 10 minutes, costs approxiamtely 4,10€.

Directions in Hohenheim

Hohenheim is connected to Stuttgart's light rail line U3 at Plieningen Garbe (south-west near Wollgrasweg) and bus lines 65,70,74,75,76 at station Universität Hohenheim (at the centre of the map near IT-Service-Desk).

GDN 2017 will take place in the main building of castle Hohenheim including the Balcony Hall, Blue Hall, green Hall, and the Pine Cone Hall. Conference sessions will also take place at the lecture halls HS 1, HS 4, and HS 5. Coffee Breaks and lunch will be provided directly at the conference location.

Please take some time to walk through Hohenheim's magnificent botanical gardens south of the castle. Also Café Denkbar invites you for a short break or coffee.
